Here are Alisha's 2023 wedding trend predictions... will you be falling for any of these upcoming trends?

Think 80’s but modern 80’s...
Remembering Princess Diana’s iconic, puffy wedding gown might elate or deflate you when thinking of your wedding but think 80’s with a glowup.
Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week will have a lot to answer for when we see puffy sleeved wedding dresses making a return in 2023. Since the shows in Barcelona, the puff sleeve wedding dress term has risen by 39% in online searches¹.
The 90’s are still, very much a rising trend but the 80’s have taken over by setting the tone for the most head-turning dresses during the Bridal Week in Barcelona.

Wedding suits for the ladies
In an opposite effect to the wonderful puffy sleeved wedding gowns, suits are becoming a staple in women’s wedding wardrobes.
I’m sure we all know a bride that is horrified at the thought of wearing a dress because it just doesnt suit their personality. Those brides can now be right on trend with the new popularity of the bridal suit.
Bridal suits give a chic and clean look which is an aesthic we won’t see going anywhere anytime soon and searches for “wedding suits for women” have increased by 125%¹ - this is almost 10,000 searches monthly.

“Mates of Honour”
Bringing your personality and a true reflection of self is something we are seeing more and more in modern weddings. This extendes to wedding parties reflecting actual friendship groups. Gender specific and traditional wedding parties are out with the new term, ‘mates of honour’.
The search for ‘male bridesmaid’ has risen by 23%¹ with the following terms also becoming more popular; ‘bridesmates’, ‘wedding squad’ and ‘i do crew’.
Under the same umberalla, couples are now looking at shared pre-wedding celebrations calling it a ‘sten-do’. The searches for this have risen by 100%¹ as nearly-weds would prefer to party together.

Wedding dress rentals
I’m sure it’s not only me that has seen a rise is rental clothing companies and that doesn’t stop at party dresses. Wedding dresses are expensive and the choice is endless. Renting a gown is a way to keep within a budget that may not have been possible before.
Not only will it save wardrobe space and money, renting a dress is a more sustainable approach especially when there is a rise in seeing a bride in not one, not two but three wedding day oufits. Sustainability is another thing more couples will be considering when getting married and renting a dress is a fabulous place to start.
